About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located in Red Hook, NY, this position will provide administrative support to the IRA Residential Leadership team to ensure that office operations are performed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. They will perform their duties in a confidential manner, and be responsive to customer needs. They will compose routine correspondence; prepare schedules and forms; edit material to ensure correct spelling and punctuation; and file and/or distribute materials appropriately. The Administrative Specialist will answer the telephone, screen calls, record messages, provide information, and route calls to appropriate personnel. They will also maintain records and prepare reports for submission to funding agencies, accreditation agencies, parents/legal guardians, other departments, etc. They will establish and maintain various file systems. The Administrative Specialist will also schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting minutes, including tracking action items through completion. The ideal candidate should have thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • One year office experience in similar setting performing similar duties required
  • Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Previous experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred
