About The Position

Bowers Accountants & Advisors is seeking an Administrative Specialist to join their collaborative administrative team in Ithaca, NY. This role is crucial for the day-to-day operations of a growing public accounting firm, providing essential administrative support to firm leadership, professional staff, and clients. The position offers opportunities for skill development, working with experienced professionals, and contributing to a team-oriented environment. It is primarily an in-office position with flexibility and a professional, supportive atmosphere. Additional evening and occasional weekend hours may be required during the busy season (January through April 15). There are opportunities for expanded responsibilities and growth within the administrative teams.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent of professional work experience
  • Two or more years of administrative experience in a professional office environment
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong customer service mindset and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to firm leadership and professional staff
  • Format financial statements and supporting documentation for client delivery and review
  • Process tax returns and assist with related administrative workflows
  • Manage requests through the firm's administrative ticketing system
  • Assist with document management, organization, and internal communications
  • Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives across the firm
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling client and financial information
  • Welcome clients, answer incoming calls, and assist with client inquiries
  • Coordinate and distribute client documents and correspondence
  • Collaborate with administrative team members to ensure efficient office operations
