About The Position

Arkansas Tech University is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Administrative Specialist III to support key operations within the Division of Student Affairs. This position plays an essential role in ensuring smooth office operations, providing excellent customer service to students and colleagues, and supporting processes related to student conduct, Title IX, and residence life. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, email systems, data entry tools)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in higher education or a student-facing environment
  • Experience in a front desk or high-volume customer service setting
  • Experience preparing reports, tracking data, or supporting office operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience working with database systems (e.g., Maxient or similar)
  • Experience handling confidential records or compliance-related work

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by assisting students, staff, and visitors in person, by phone, and via email
  • Coordinate office operations including scheduling, correspondence, and document management
  • Prepare reports, track data, and assist with departmental projects and compliance activities
  • Support student conduct and Title IX processes, including coordination of hearings and documentation
  • Maintain confidential records in compliance with university policies and federal regulations
  • Assist with hiring processes, onboarding paperwork, and payroll coordination for student employees
  • Monitor budgets, process requisitions, and support financial tracking
  • Supervise and support student administrative staff
  • Assist with events, meetings, and departmental initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
