This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Greater Greenville Mental Health Center, 124 Mallard St, Greenville, SC 29601. In this position, you will perform administrative support duties involved with client admissions and scheduling.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience, or an associate degree in secretarial science or a related field; or three (3) years of clerical experience.
  • Have the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying office practices and procedures.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Have the ability to deal effectively with the public in disseminating and obtaining information.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all duties involved with Adult, Child, Adolescent and Family Services, and out stationed patient admissions.
  • Research for client account numbers through Medical Records/Tracking System.
  • Responsible for processing information on all scheduled patients and walk-in patients and maintaining their information sheets and paperwork.
  • Schedule appointments for new patients.
  • Perform any closures that need closing from open-close cases on same day.
  • Process daily requests from clinicians regarding open/close patients and assigning them to different clinicians.
  • Perform OMH state law procedures for Continuity of Care for OMH discharges accordingly.
  • Enter Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance information for billing purposes.
  • Provide coverage for administrative areas to include all front office areas, switchboard, and admissions as needed.
  • Perform cashier duties and collection of fees paid.
