The Monmouth Vicinage General Operations division is seeking a highly motivated self-starter with strong administrative, organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills who is committed to providing excellent administrative and support services. Under the general direction of the Operations Division Manager (Court Executive 2B) or other supervisory personnel, the selected individual will use excellent administrative and leadership skills, strong writing and verbal communication skills, effective multi-tasking, keen attention to detail, and exceptional organization and customer service skills to provide a wide range of administrative functions in various areas of operations.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicants who are approaching their anticipated graduation date may apply. If selected, the applicant must complete their degree no later than their start date.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating transcript/audio requests
  • Coordinating interpreting services
  • Providing logistical coordination and support for jury trials and special court events
  • Communicating and establishing working relationships with state agencies, judges, sheriff's office, management, and outside vendors and agencies
  • Maintaining and creating standard operating procedures
  • Preparing reports and proposals
  • Maintaining the divisional SharePoint site
  • Arranging training for vicinage staff as needed
  • Providing guidance to staff on technical matters
  • Analyzing work processes/methods and establishing workflow systems/procedures
  • Performing other operational and administrative duties as assigned
