About The Position

The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position. The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for an Administrative Specialist 1. This is a permanent full-time state position located at the Portland Air National Guard Base (PANG) in Portland, Oregon. The salary range listed is a non PERS rate if you are PERS eligible the salary range is $4,050.00 - $5,550.00 This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees’ (AFSCME) union. This position is classified management service and is not represented by a union. NOTE: This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
  • OR An associate degree in general office occupations and one (1) year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
  • OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency and accuracy in typing (there will be a typing proficiency test administered at the time of interview)
  • Proficiency with Power Point & Excel
  • Technological comfort and AI adaptability
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Professional communication and emotional maturity
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DoD SECRET security clearance and eligibility to obtain a USAF Restricted Area Badge.
  • Incumbent must possess or be able to possess and maintain a favorable completed National Agency Check in order to receive and retain an AF Form 1199 restricted area badge and obtain and maintain AF Form 2293, U.S. Air Force Motor Vehicle Identification Card.
  • Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPM’s, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary administrative support specialist for the 142nd Civil Engineer Squadron, providing comprehensive administrative, personnel, and technology support services to ensure efficient squadron operations.
  • Serves as a key liaison between squadron personnel, leadership, and external agencies while maintaining critical administrative systems and processes.
