WASHINGTON STREET, PHOENIX, AZ 85007 Posting Details: SALARY: $60K-$65K GRADE: 21 CLOSING DATE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Services Officer 2 (ASO2) to join our Business & Finance Unit within the Mission Partners Division. This position reports to the Deputy Assistant Director and supports the standardization of Anaplan user maintenance and administration. This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements). The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Requirements

  • Government accounting, budgeting, and resource allocation principles.
  • Applicable federal regulations, state statutes, and department policies.
  • State government organizational structure and information management protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite/Workplace.
  • Expertise in financial software and abstract data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication of complex financial information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management.
  • Advanced customer service skills for diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and apply LEAN problem-solving concepts.
  • Collaborate effectively in teams and manage multiple, changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent related discipline. (Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years’ experience).
  • Two years or more responsible experience in finance, budgeting or related field

Responsibilities

  • Streamline financial reporting processes by assisting in automating data validation and requirements gathering for key initiatives like agency spending plans and state-level report requests
  • Provides support and ad-hoc analysis to ensure data integrity across all state and federal funding sources
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to prioritize software enhancements that drive more informed, data-driven financial decisions for the department
  • Continuously improve accuracy and validation strategies.
  • Support continuous financial reporting using Excel and Google Sheets for State and Federal funding.
  • Streamline requirements gathering for agency spending plans, budget meetings, and business reviews.
  • Automate reporting for the Executive Budget Request and ADOA annual data uploads.
  • Support and standardize Anaplan user maintenance and communication.
  • Prioritize and manage software issues and development items as they arise.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts on Anaplan support and development priorities.
  • Provide high-level support and financial reporting assistance to program staff, leadership, and others.
