Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a department, large division or major program area, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and fiscal management. Additional responsibilities are varied and include planning, organizing, coordinating and supervising work in two or more business functions such as purchasing and warehouse operations; contracts and leases; human resources; Information Technology; buildings and grounds maintenance; facilities management and construction; food and laundry services; investments; vehicle utilization and maintenance; and/or communication equipment and office support services. The Aging and Disability Services (ADSD) is currently recruiting for an Administrative Services Officer 1 in Reno, Nevada. This position may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Fiscal. The Administrative Services Officer (ASO1) helps monitor agency budgets and disseminate accurate fiscal information and reports in a timely manner. The ASO1 will assist in developing the agencies biennial budget request, prepare monthly operating statements, BETS and MAPS for Seirra and Rural Regional Center budget accounts. They will oversee accounting activities to ensure proper coding of expenditures in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The position will supervise and manage the Accounts Payable (A/P) and Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R) functions, advise management on matters concerning agency funds to assure compliance with regulations and law. They will be expected to train, supervise, and provide timely appraisal reviews of direct report staff and support subordinate supervisors to ensure appraisals of front-line staff are completed timely. The ASO1 must demonstrate effective and respectful communication with all staff and customers in every situation. This position is responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality when handling sensitive documents and ensuring full compliance with HIPAA and all other relevant regulations. The ASO1 is required to prepare and submit accurate reports to internal and external entities within established deadlines, including Federal agencies, the State Controller’s Office, State Treasurer’s Office, Governor’s Finance Office, and the Grants Management Unit. All work must be performed in accordance with Division policies and procedures, as well as NRS, NAC, and HIPAA requirements. A valid driver’s license is required.
