About The Position

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resource Services, the incumbent acts as a receptionist for the Shared Health Human Resources Office, including greeting visitors, handling inquiries, and redirecting as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Experience with email and computerized calendars.
  • Two years directly related experience.
  • Experience scheduling and coordinating meetings.
  • Proficiency with computerized systems (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Typing speed 40 wpm.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and update a variety of spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality.
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
  • Formal training in applied office skills is required.
  • Required to work for long periods of time at a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with SAP data entry would be an asset.
  • Previous healthcare experience would be an asset.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and prioritizing independently, the administrative activities for the supervisor and ensuring that all work is completed within established timeframes.
  • Maintaining a variety of spreadsheets.
  • Typing, formatting and proofreading letters, procedures, etc., from hand written notes or rough draft.
  • Taking initiative to handle matters and solve administrative problems not requiring the direct personal attention of the supervisor(s).
  • Participating as a member of the portfolio in a manner that contributes to teamwork and collaboration.
