About The Position

This position is located within the Administrative. Training. and Safety Services section of the Division of Management and Finance. Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The incumbent will exercise a wide latitude of independent judgement in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the position with broad administrative direction from the Administrative Program Specialist C. AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES: Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions. Requirements

  • Four years of experience in administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR An advanced degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records for state reporting and audit purposes.
  • Compile incident and accident data into monthly reports for quarterly presentation to Executive Staff and Regional Administrators.
  • Create, maintain, and post Job Safety Analyses (JSA) in accordance with DCFS safety policy.
  • Request and track additional documentation from regional offices as needed for claims processing and vehicle repairs.
  • Collaborate with regional representatives to assess risk to staff when threats occur and determine appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Complete annual safety audits at the request of the state insurance provider.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
