About The Position

This position will provide administrative and financial oversight to the Division of Administrative Services within the Department of Education and Early Development. The focus is on fiscal support, budget, procurement, human resources, and facilities. This position serves as the administrative liaison, coordinating to ensure efficient and effective administrative operations within the various divisions. DEED’s mission is to provide an excellent education for every student every day. The position will help carry out the mission and vision by providing financial administrative support across the entire department, enabling staff to provide support to schools, district, student, and families statewide.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of hiring, classification, benefits, labor relations, negotiation, and Federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Knowledge of the methods, techniques, and tools used to analyze program, organizational, and mission performance; includes methods that deliver key performance information (for example, comparative, trend, diagnostic, root cause, predictive) used to inform decisions, actions, communications, and accountability systems.
  • Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
  • Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
  • Prepares, justifies, and/or administers the budget for program areas; plans, administers, and monitors expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs and policies; assesses financial condition of an organization.
  • Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience providing administrative support to a business or organization, business administration, public administration, finance, banking, accounting, industrial relations, marketing, human resource management, logistics and supply chain management, or a similar business field.
