Administrative Fellow- Philanthropy
About The Position
This is an 18-month post-graduate fellowship program designed to cultivate future leaders in philanthropy within CommonSpirit Health. The fellowship focuses on developing comprehensive expertise and practical application across all facets of philanthropy, including grants, operations, prospect research, direct response, engagement strategies, and major gifts. Fellows will gain hands-on experience, participate in national senior leadership meetings, and develop skills in management, decision-making, and change management. This role is remote, with potential for in-person work depending on the candidate's location (Phoenix, Seattle, Denver, Houston, Chattanooga, or California). The anticipated start date is July 2027.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in either: Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Public Health (MPH), or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or equivalent degree from an accredited graduate program.
- Completion of all on-campus requirements and eligibility to graduate upon fellowship completion.
- Less than 5 years of professional experience.
- Must have graduated with an applicable Master’s Degree between Spring 2024 and Spring 2028.
- A strong interest in healthcare management and leadership.
- A passion for CommonSpirit Health's mission and a commitment to "humankindness."
Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives that support CommonSpirit Health's goals.
- Work closely with executive sponsors to guide rotations.
- Customize professional development through conferences, memberships, certifications, and more via a designated Fellow budget.
- Hone management, decision-making, and change management abilities.
- Build relationships with leaders and peers.
- Gain practical experience in various functional areas of philanthropy.
- Take on substantive projects to develop skills.
- Engage in a dedicated curriculum spanning grants, operations, prospect research, direct response, engagement, and major gifts.
- Actively contribute to national senior leadership meetings.
- Demonstrate readiness for roles such as a major gift officer or grants analyst.
