The John Nicholas Brown Center (JNBC) focuses on promoting the broad public discussion and dissemination of academic research and scholarship across the full range of disciplines. The Professor of Africana Studies and Primary Investigator (PI) for the Systemic Racism Project (SRP), working in collaboration with the John Nicholas Brown Center for Advanced Study (JNBC), seeks applicants for a part-time Administrative Coordinator. This position reports to the PI and is responsible for managing the PI’s calendar and communications, serving as the central point of contact for the PI’s communication with internal and external parties. This includes organizing and scheduling meetings and, under the PI’s direction, organizing and responding appropriately to email correspondence. Other responsibilities include making travel arrangements and submitting expense reports promptly that are in complete alignment with university policies, practices, and guidelines. The position coordinates efficiently and effectively with SRP and JNBC staff, ensuring transparent and responsive communication regarding the PI’s calendar, priorities, and related deadlines. On an ad hoc basis, the Administrative Coordinator may occasionally assist the SRP Digital Marketing Manager and/or JNBC Center Manager with updates to relevant websites and social media. This is a part-time, hybrid-eligible position, 15-18 hours a week on average, with flexible working hours and time off.
