About The Position

Texas A&M University’s Department of Physics & Astronomy seeks an Administrative Coordinator I to provide comprehensive administrative support to the department. Working under general supervision, this role coordinates and supports a variety of departmental operations and administrative activities, exercising discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance. The position serves as a key resource in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, supporting departmental initiatives, and helping maintain effective administrative processes and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Planning and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and supports administrative operations, activities, and services to ensure efficient office functioning.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves office procedures, services, and processes while ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.
  • Analyzes programs, projects, and initiatives; monitors progress and timelines; and identifies issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements, administrative enhancements, and new initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintains office resources, reference materials, supplies, and equipment to support daily operations.
  • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates meetings, seminars, and other special events.
