Job Summary The incumbent serves as the Assistant to the Chief of Operations and provides administrative support and administrative coordination for the Office of the Provost. The incumbent will also provide backup support to the Executive Assistant to the Provost and Assistant to Vice Provost, Academic Planning.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with CSULB campus policies and procedures.
  • Able to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
  • Working experience in using Excel and Word software.
  • Good interpersonal skills and maintain positive working relationship with campus community.
  • Ability to operate in a variety of organizational structures.
  • Ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detailed oriented and good organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
  • Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Chief of Operations.
  • Drafts and prepares agendas, reports, letters, memos, and presentations for university, departmental, and external meetings at the direction of the Chief of Operations.
  • Supports administrative functions and provides administrative coordination for the Office of the Provost.
  • Provides backup support to the Executive Assistant to the Provost and Assistant to the Vice Provost for Academic Planning.
