About The Position

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. Make a difference behind the scenes in delivering timely Medicaid services! As an Administrative Coordinator 4, you’ll play an essential role in processing member correspondence, organizing and classifying important documents, and ensuring information is accurately added to member accounts. Your attention to detail and timely work will help keep cases moving efficiently and ensure Medicaid members receive the information and coverage they need. Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Sorts and processes incoming Medicaid correspondence received through postal mail, email, eFax, and other electronic sources.
  • Reviews, classifies, and accurately images documents according to established document types and processing procedures.
  • Transmits processed documents to member accounts within established timeframes to support timely case processing.
  • Routes electronic and hard-copy documents to the appropriate member cases for attachment and further action.
  • Files, archives, and maintains Medicaid documents in accordance with established procedures and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Prepares and sends outbound correspondence requesting confidential information from Medicaid members or other appropriate parties.
  • Monitors and prioritizes correspondence to ensure timely processing, support eligibility determinations, and help prevent delays in Medicaid coverage.
