About The Position

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Sorts and processes incoming mail, images, documents, and files and archives records according to document type.
  • Reviews and classifies documents to ensure accurate and timely transmission to Medicaid member accounts.
  • Routes electronic and hard-copy documents for attachment to appropriate individual cases.
  • Prepares and sends outbound correspondence requesting confidential or additional information as needed.
  • Manages incoming and outgoing mail using electronic letter-opening and scanning equipment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with coworkers, Medicaid members, and other LDH staff and participates in required Medicaid policy training and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with special projects, provides technical support within the CPU/CSU department, and helps maintain office computer hardware and equipment.
