About The Position

This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA Office of Early Childhood Operations Job Focus Area Join the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) and become a critical point of contact for families seeking vital resources! This Administrative Coordinator 2 role is the front-line communication of the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), directly impacting access to education and support across the state. This position is ideal for an organized, compassionate, and highly effective communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll serve as a core representative on our CCAP Communication and Systems team, using specialized eligibility systems to provide accurate information and resolution to stakeholders. This role offers a unique mix of direct public service and specialized program administration. You'll be instrumental in ensuring families receive timely and correct information about their eligibility for the Child Care Assistance Program, directly contributing to the LDOE's mission to support Louisiana's children and families.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in administrative services.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions.
  • Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, research and respond or refer complaints related to the CCAP Household Eligibility program.
  • Utilize the available systems to research and provide responses to inquiries related to CCAP eligibility, application status, and general program related questions.
  • Work with CCAP Household Eligibility staff to resolve escalated issues received by email.
  • Assist CCAP Household Eligibility staff sort, log, and scan mail from stakeholders and the general public.
  • Route emails to the appropriate LDOE contact.
