About The Position

This position reports to the Administrative Specialist II in Human Resources and indirectly reports to the Administrative Officer III at a multi-custody female correctional facility. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, providing clerical support services to the Administrative/Human Resources Section, understanding and providing support in regard to Employee Benefits, maintaining files/records according to departmental policy to allow quick, easy access and retrieval of information requested, possessing and utilizing solid communication skills both orally and written, composing memos/letters and proofreading documents for spelling/punctuation/grammar, inputting and comprehending computer-generated data, reviewing completed tasks to ensure accuracy/integrity of information, working under stressful conditions in meeting daily/monthly deadlines, receiving and processing sectional mail, maintaining all aspects of the hiring process/setting up interviews, working with prospective employees to gather information, compiling all necessary paperwork and maintaining all position history and recommendation files, assisting with data entry and the weekly time sheet process, and performing other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Documented working knowledge of word processing or spreadsheet programs.
