About The Position

Reporting to the Administrative Officer III at a medium custody male correctional facility, this position primarily maintains and oversees the financial accounting data for the facility’s Maintenance Department. Technical accounting work may include independent responsibility for maintaining accounting records or separate accounts payable functions. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Analyzing data for accuracy, to problem solve, and to interpret regulations. 2. Performing various accounting functions through NCAS/NCFS and E-Procurement such as, accounts receivables and payables, purchasing, and etc. 3. Ensuring all uniform accounting procedures are followed in processing requisitions, P-Card purchases/reconciliation, direct payment forms, expense vouchers, and vendor contracts. 4. Maintaining all logs, files and reports associated with procurement and payable files. 5. Reviewing all appliable NCAS reports on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basics.

Requirements

  • High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Documented knowledge of accounting methods, procedures and accounting practices.
  • Documented knowledge of Microsoft office software.
  • Documented experience with accounts receivables.
  • Documented composition and communication skills (oral and written).
