About The Position

This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Solicitor-General and office staff, including maintaining a front-office presence as well assisting with in-court proceedings. This position is part-time up to 29 hours per week with no benefits. Court-appropriate dress is required. Keeps the Solicitor-General and office staff accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems or visitor needs.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
  • Two (2) years of related work experience, or equivalent training and/or education

Responsibilities

  • Answers phones and greets visitors
  • Schedules appointments and maintains calendars
  • Collects and distributes mail
  • Writes letters, e-mails, and other memos
  • Receives legal documents such as warrants, motions, discovery requests to compile with related case/file
  • Creates and maintains legal files, including physical file folders and electronic files in the case management system
  • Verifies accuracy of information and enters/updates data into the case management system
  • Downloads and uploads applicable case materials into the case management system
  • Organizes files in both the case management system and physical file folder according to office standards
  • Creates court calendars using the case management system and generates notices and envelopes to attorneys and applicable parties
  • Files legal documents and notices with the clerk of court
  • Attends court proceedings and assists the Solicitor-General, office staff, and members of the public with applicable paperwork
