About The Position

Almstead Nursery is owned and operated by Almstead tree Care, a second-generation, family-owned firm established in 1964 that services commercial and residential clients throughout the NY, NJ, and CT tri-state area. Our Administrative Assistant is the face of the Nursery ensuring a positive experience for both clients and employees. We are a team of highly dedicated professionals who are focused on providing quality, customized services to our clients! Maintaining professional office standards and business practices, the hours are 7 am to 4 pm.

Requirements

Excellent communication and customer service skills are necessary.
Sharp attention to detail, self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and Database Systems desired (we will train on our programs).
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
3+ years of experience in a similar position
Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Bachelor's Degree helpful

Responsibilities

Customer service: heavy phone work including inbound and outbound calls, walk-in customer support, and scheduling deliveries.
Preparing purchase orders, bank deposits, billing and payment processing utilizing QuickBooks, complete daily accounting accurately and efficiently.
Providing administrative support to Nursery Manager and complete special projects as assigned.
