The Town of Cochrane is seeking a compassionate, highly organized Administrative Assistant to support our Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) and Family Resource Network (FRN). Requirements

  • Post secondary education in administration or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1–3 years of administrative experience, including clerical duties, cash receipting, and responding to public inquiries.
  • Outstanding customer service skills that help create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent time management skills.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a commitment to high quality service.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort learning new systems and processes.
  • All applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in municipal government, public sector, or Human Services is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Providing warm, professional customer service to residents, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience.
  • Responding to public inquiries, both in person and by phone, with a calm and supportive approach.
  • Maintaining confidential client information in accordance with privacy and trauma‑informed practices.
  • Developing and maintaining statistics and outcome measures to support the ongoing evaluation of FCSS and FRN programs and services.
  • Performing clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, filing, scheduling, and document preparation.
  • Assisting with program and committee coordination, including registration, communication, minute taking and logistics.
  • Supporting FCSS and FRN staff with administrative tasks, information requests, and day‑to‑day operations.
  • Helping maintain organized office systems, records, and processes to support efficient service delivery.
  • Supporting cash receipting, fee collection, and accurate financial record‑keeping.
  • Collaborating with a compassionate, community‑focused team to support residents and families.
