About The Position

Join our dynamic team at American Forest Management, Inc. (AFM) as a Part-time Administrative Assistant responsible for providing crucial administrative support to our forestry personnel in a client-focused forest management business. Reporting directly to the District Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining operational efficiency. American Forest Management, Inc. AFM provides sustainable land management, consulting, and real estate services for a diverse range of land assets - including timberland, farmland, and other privately held lands - serving landowners throughout the United States, Panama, and Costa Rica. Requirements

  • Office experience involving various computer software and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage detailed data tasks.
  • Adaptability to learn and proficiently use forest accounting systems.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Familiarity with office procedures and equipment.
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality with both customer and internal information.

Responsibilities

  • Generate service contracts for harvesting operations and road work using standardized forms and information provided by foresters.
  • Accurately input service contract data into our forest management and accounting systems.
  • Code and enter accounts payable data into specialized forest accounting software.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, providing information or redirecting them as necessary.
  • Handle daily mail collection from the post office, sorting incoming mail, and assisting with outgoing mail, and shipments.
  • Operate office machinery proficiently for data input and retrieval, organizing maintenance as needed.
  • Compose and type routine correspondence to be sent via mail, email, or fax.
  • Undertake additional related duties as needed or assigned.
