Reporting to the Director of Public Works and secondarily to the Board of Sewer Commissioners, the Administrative Assistant carries out a range of administrative duties, from routine to complex, to support the daily operations of the sewer commission office. Responsibilities include preparing and attending meetings, processing filings, and performing other related administrative tasks as needed. The role involves regular contact with the public, town officials, departments, boards, employees, contractors, developers, engineers, consultants, and attorneys, through in-person interactions, telephone calls, and written correspondence. The Administrative Assistant will also participate in confidential discussions and executive sessions, handling sensitive information and correspondence, and must always maintain strict confidentiality.
