About The Position

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant II, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. As an Administrative Assistant II, you will work as a member of the Digital Enterprise (DE) group in the Mission Support Branch to lead implementation of data-centered projects to improve the AEDC ground test data infrastructure, facility operations, and business systems. The person selected for this role will work closely with multidisciplinary work teams throughout the Beyond New Horizons (BNH) organization to aid and assist with an array of activities will help DE team. The selected candidate for this requisition may be required to occasionally work outside normal business hours. Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. AEDC operates several aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization, and an important national resource. AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, and ground and flight test. Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Six years of applicable experience
  • Any equivalent combination of applicable education and experience.
  • Current U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to maintain access to the AEDC network.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, punctuation, required formats, technical vocabularies and terminology common to the assignment, Document Control and Records Management systems and common office procedures, and professional telephone practices.
  • Ability to obtain a BNH purchasing card.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in word processing and composition with a minimum typing speed of 55 wpm, and operation of standard computerized systems and other information transmission systems.

Responsibilities

  • Works independently to provide administrative and secretarial support of a responsible and confidential nature and performs document control and records management activities to help ensure the smooth functioning of the department. Duties require accuracy, judgment, a high degree of initiative, discretion, diplomacy, and knowledge of protocol. Anticipates changing priorities and problems. Adheres to and supports the use of company policies and procedures, and good industrial and office safety practices.
  • Receives and screens phone calls directing them to the appropriate parties. Ensures coverage in absence.
  • Independently composes and distributes complex correspondence using standard word processing systems or other software applications. Keeps abreast of key issues, commitments, and priorities of manager.
  • Research information and compiles briefing charts, summary reports and other presentation materials.
  • Takes initiative to identify and solve problems related to the group without much guidance or direction.
  • Owns, as a GpiLearn™ Administrator, tracking/assisting employees in completing training requirements.
  • Coordinates proforma documents/forms with managers for acquisitions department.
  • Schedules meetings, appointments and coordinates travel arrangements as needed.
  • Maintains office supplies ensuring supplies are available when needed.
  • Collects, reviews, and distributes incoming hard copy and electronic mail. Independently handles mail not requiring the manager’s attention. Reviews outgoing mail to ensure accuracy and proper format. Follows up to ensure action.
  • Develops and guides the implementation of procedures and of filing and record-keeping systems, including performing data entry and records management function.
  • Develop workflow charts to demonstrate and improve engineer work processes including configuration management.
  • Maintain the Digital Enterprise share-point web site.
  • Support interview scheduling, engineering onboarding (DD2875 and applications), workstation equipment ordering.
  • Support development of engineering metrics to improve workflow, efficiency and staffing.
  • Performs duties as the building manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
