About The Position

The Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN) is seeking a proactive, motivated and highly organised Administrative Officer to support the operations of Victoria’s premier nanofabrication facility. In this key role, you will provide a wide range of high-quality administrative services that keep MCN running efficiently and professionally. Every day will bring variety as you: Manage complex diaries, coordinate meetings and organise travel Be the first point of contact, greeting visitors, handling enquiries and providing outstanding customer service Draft polished communications, reports and correspondence Order consumables and support procurement processes Support events including workshops, conferences and functions Reconcile expenses and ensure accurate data management Research and interpret policies, helping colleagues and stakeholders navigate processes Contribute to project administration and continuous improvement initiatives Your work will directly support scientists, engineers, industry partners and students working on cutting-edge technologies that shape the future. You’ll be part of a supportive, professional environment where your contribution truly matters. Guided by the Infrastructure and HSW Manager, you will work with a wide community of researchers and partners while building valuable experience in a unique scientific facility

Requirements

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • High computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Substantial relevant skills and experience
  • An understanding of the University environment and its dynamic research context.
