About The Position

This is a full-time Administrative Assistant position within the Department of Mass Media, Art and Design. The role is designed to complement the River Campus department office/Crisp Museum (operations) position by serving as the department's governance and academic operations lead. The position provides administrative support for main campus academic office operations, departmental governance, and faculty support. It involves cross-training and coordination with the administrative support for the River Campus academic office to ensure consistent departmental service. The role also includes managing course scheduling, textbook adoptions, advising assignments, enrollment overrides, and waitlists, as well as maintaining faculty personnel files, accreditation documentation, assessment records, and confidential departmental records. Additionally, the position coordinates faculty travel, professional development, hiring paperwork, and onboarding, and processes departmental purchasing, budget transactions, expense reports, and student media administrative support. The Administrative Assistant will also provide front-office reception and support to students, train and supervise student office employees, and coordinate daily office workflow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn university systems.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, purchasing, budget reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, or similar financial processes.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service and positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external constituents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising, training, or coordinating student employees or support staff is a plus.

Responsibilities
