About The Position

Under the direction of the business manager, School Principal, or other assigned manager, this role is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support and for performing other varied functions as necessary in a school setting. The position requires a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church, adherence to Catholic morals and principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a positive and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church; be in full communion with the Church
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
  • Exercise courtesy to fellow employees and the general public
  • Must be a self-starter, well organized and perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Punctuality is a must at all times
  • Ability to travel locally as required
  • Proficiency in computer technology to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Professional bearing, clean and neat personal appearance
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal background check prior to employment and every five years
  • Must complete Protecting God’s Children (PGC) workshop prior to employment

  • Ability to travel and drive one's own vehicle to various diocesan locations when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Support the school’s spiritual and pastoral mission
  • Abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and private life, and govern professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral teachings.
  • Work collaboratively in a positive, friendly, and professional manner with all parish, school, and diocesan employees
  • Display personal initiative, coordinate, facilitate, and provide with timeliness and accuracy, administrative support in matters regarding the organization
  • Maintain and respect the privacy of the persons supported
  • Manage Tuition System in collaboration with school bookkeeper/accountant and school staff
  • Help maintain the calendar of events, scheduling events as needed
  • Provide necessary staff support to staff and others as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned
