About The Position

This posting is open exclusively to current AL DOC incumbent employees, allowing NaphCare to quickly and accurately enter their information into the payroll system. NaphCare is seeking an Administrative Assistant (AA) to join their team of medical professionals at the Hamilton Correctional Facility in Hamilton, AL. In this role, the Correctional AA will collaborate with correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to individuals in residence. Working in a controlled, security-focused environment, the position offers diverse duties to maintain engagement. This unique opportunity allows the AA to make a difference for a diverse patient population with complex medical needs. The Administrative Assistant is crucial to NaphCare's mission of delivering quality healthcare that upholds the rights, dignity, and health of their patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
  • Must be proficient utilizing Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Two years college, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive and route visitors and inquiries and issues to the appropriate staff
  • Transmit correspondence and medical records via mail, email or fax
  • Perform various clerical and administrative functions, including ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies and sorting and distribute all mail and interoffice correspondence
  • Perform bookkeeping duties, such as preparation of expense reports and maintaining petty cash and receipts
  • Transmit and maintain all medical claims and all subpoenas and/or medical record requests as required
  • Assist the FHA and DON with recruiting efforts, credentialing, scheduling interviews, and processing new hire documentation
  • Utilization management to include processing offsite referrals, appointments, patient registrations and transport requests
  • Gather and maintain documentation required for all accreditation surveys
