About The Position

The Administrative Assistant provides front-line support to Albertans accessing services in person and by telephone through Alberta Supports Resource Centres. The role assists clients in navigating programs and community resources, assesses individual needs to determine appropriate service delivery options, and provides comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient program operations. Responsibilities also include processing payments and maintaining accurate financial transactions in accordance with government and ministry policies. This role requires sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment. All while, providing professional client services, handling complex or sensitive situations with tact, maintaining confidentiality, and using initiative to support and improve administrative processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma plus a minimum of two years of related administrative experience.
  • Equivalencies will be considered based on 1 year of experience for 1 year of education, or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line service by phone and in person.
  • Assess needs and determine appropriate service options.
  • Identify urgent situations and de-escalate challenging interactions.
  • Connect clients to programs, services, and community resources.
  • Manage walk-ins, appointments, and client information updates.
  • Process payments and financial documents in compliance with policy.
  • Verify transactions for accuracy and authorization.
  • Maintain financial records, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
  • Support cheque processing, vendor updates, and direct deposits.
  • Support document processing and file maintenance.
  • Manage mail, records, and client inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with program, security, and records policies.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
