The Opportunity The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily operations within our team. As CLC continues to evolve in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, this role plays an important part in ensuring our departments function smoothly and efficiently. The Administrative Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support, including scheduling, document preparation, data entry, communications coordination, and general office tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Reporting to department leadership, this role works closely with internal staff and contributes to a professional, collaborative, and service-oriented workplace. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. Requirements

  • At least four (4), years of experience in office support or secretarial work.
  • Knowledge of office administration and management practices
  • Knowledge of departmental and unit policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and business communication standards
  • Knowledge of business mathematics
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal and customer service interaction skills
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, tablets, and related technology
  • Ability to use office software suites effectively
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex administrative tasks using computers, tablets, and electronic equipment, including formatting and typing correspondence, reports, bills, drafts, and other documents from rough copy, transcription, or dictated notes.
  • Proofread materials for accuracy, content, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Edit documents to ensure clarity and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Design and/or maintain efficient office filing systems, including confidential records.
  • Compose detailed, complex letters and memoranda on behalf of the department, including explanations of policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Serve as a communication resource, ensuring accurate and professional messaging.
  • Research and compile information from various sources to prepare statistical or narrative reports.
  • Analyze data and provide recommendations when appropriate.
  • Represent the manager by interpreting established policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot issues and relieve the manager of administrative details.
  • Make decisions within delegated authority in the manager�s absence.
  • Screen incoming correspondence to determine required actions and recommend responses.
  • Assist in coordinating departmental workflows.
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings, including space, technology, and materials.
  • Prepare agendas, charts, graphs, reports, and presentation materials.
  • Take meeting notes or minutes and prepare finalized documentation.
  • Manage travel arrangements and expense reports.
  • Authorize purchases and payments within defined limits.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting, including documentation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Develop office and departmental procedure manuals.
  • Assist in interviewing, training, and, if applicable, supervising office support staff.
  • Related duties as assigned.
