Department: Kogod School of Business Time Type: Part time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Description: Summary: Kogod School of Business is seeking a student to serve as the Administrative Assistant within the Marketing and Communication department. We are looking for a collaborative team player who is passionate about enhancing student experience, engaging in the campus climate, and building intentional partnerships with campus offices and stakeholders to support the goals of Kogod School of Business.

Requirements

  • The role is open to current full-time, degree-seeking AU students.
  • Candidates must have a strong understanding of various AU platforms for planning, advertising, and promoting signature events, as well as experience or interest in facilitating dialogues and programming that foster meaningful engagement within the campus community.
  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a related role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with office equipment (printers, fax machines, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with clients, customers, and team members.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with program implementation.
  • Manage calendars and schedule appointments, meetings, and conference calls.
  • Prepare and process correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed.
  • Maintain office supplies and inventory, ensuring that materials are stocked and readily available.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Assist with office organization and filing, ensuring easy access to documents and information.
  • Perform data entry, manage databases, and assist with record-keeping.
  • Support team with general administrative tasks, including photocopying, scanning, and organizing.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Help with event planning and office activities as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed or assigned.
