About The Position

Mohave College is seeking an enthusiastic and service-minded Administrative Assistant, Student Life and Community Engagement to help create an exceptional student experience through meaningful engagement, outstanding customer service, and strong organizational support. This role is important for creating a welcoming campus where students feel connected, supported, and inspired to get involved. The position involves assisting with campus events and student activities, supporting community partnerships, and providing exceptional customer service to build a vibrant campus culture. The ideal candidate is student-focused, collaborative, organized, welcoming, and engaging, taking initiative and following through on commitments. This role requires problem-solving, coordinating details, and creating positive experiences. As a first point of contact, the Administrative Assistant will represent Mohave College professionally and confidently balance multiple priorities, coordinate events and activities, manage schedules and communications, and ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently. Every interaction matters in fostering student engagement, building relationships, and strengthening the connection between Mohave College and the communities it serves.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, AND 2 years related experience, OR 30 semester hours of college credit, OR Possession of skills, knowledge and behaviors as outlined in the position's core competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic secretarial support functions using modern office procedures and equipment, including answering phones, preparing correspondence, data entry, maintaining filing systems, and processing mail.
  • Gather and provide general program information to students, faculty, staff, and the public, referring issues or concerns to the appropriate party for resolution.
  • Maintain supervisor's or department's calendars, schedule appointments and meetings, including travel arrangements.
  • Assist in the preparation of program materials for meetings or other distribution.
  • Coordinate special events.
  • Track department budget accounts and office supplies, record expenditures, and facilitate supply orders.
  • Process invoices for payment.
  • Prepare a variety of college forms required for daily program operations.
  • Direct student workers or other workers.
  • Serve as Web content administrator for the assigned area.
  • Work independently with experience and exercise independent judgment and initiative with increased knowledge of program policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of program reports required by federal and/or state law.
  • Administer exams and/or handle cash.
  • Adhere to college, federal, and state administrative procedures, guidelines, initiatives, and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations.
  • Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.
