About The Position

The Administrative Assistant III supports the Community Development & Revitalization Department by performing advanced administrative, organizational, and operational tasks that facilitate effective program delivery and community-focused initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • A minimum of five years or more of successful experience in an administrative role supporting an executive, director, or manager.
  • Must possess a valid SC Driver's license (or obtain one within three (3) months of hire) and meet the requirements of the County’s motor vehicle policy.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a complex set of highly confidential and technical administrative tasks.
  • Serves as the FMLA and HR representative and processes PAN, Position Changes, and various HR-related forms for the Director.
  • Serves as the primary public-facing representative of CDR, ensuring all constituents, applicants, and community partners are treated with respect and receive prompt, accurate, and courteous service; manages citizen inquiries and escalates concerns to appropriate program staff.
  • Gathers, assembles, updates, distributes, and files various information, forms, records, and data as requested using traditional filing systems or databases as necessary.
  • Maintains and orders office supplies and handles office maintenance issues.
  • Manages assigned departmental projects and performs technical administrative functions for the leadership team members, including the use of graphic design software and advanced Microsoft documents/spreadsheets.
  • Participates in community events outreach for department services.
  • Maintains a basic understanding of the Urban Entitlement Grant and other grant programs.
  • Responsible for overseeing all program publications within the department.
  • Provides administrative support by preparing correspondence, reports, lists, and other documents as instructed and requested by designated office personnel, including meeting preparation.
  • Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.
