About The Position

This individual will provide accounting support and assistance to the Accounts Payable, Payroll and general accounting department. Assist with the accurate processing of accounts payable invoices along with the preparation of various statistical worksheets that may be needed to support the accounting department. Provide exceptional customer service support to Tribal members, employees and visitors as needed, along with any other duties that may be required by the department.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years administrative/accounting support.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Provide superior customer service.
  • Ability to complete accurate work assignments on time.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential materials.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • able to organize workload in order to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and competency in accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong Multitasking and organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time performing duties.
  • Ability to provide of legal right to work for any employer in US.
  • A current California Driver's License.
  • All Applicants are required to complete the pre-screen Background Clearance and Drug Testing.

Nice To Haves

  • AP or banking experience preferred.
  • Native American preferable

Responsibilities

  • Verifies the matching and coding on invoices and purchases orders are accurate.
  • Assist with entering into the Accounts Payable system
  • Audits and maintains files and records and produces tabulated information pertaining to invoices, purchases, supplies, POs, and related functions.
  • Prepares meeting agendas and takes meeting minutes.
  • Maintains records on special requisitions, conference expense accounts, categorical programs, vendors, insurable valves, damage reports, and other related functions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all including Tribal members, and visitors.
  • Assist with yearend 1099 reconciliations, budgets and audits as needed.
  • Ensures that deadlines are met and adapts to changing priorities.
  • Coordinates with other departments, outside agencies, and outside vendors as necessary.
  • Works with sensitive information with security and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
