About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a master multitasker ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT III with excellent communication skills and a great attitude to complete special projects requested by the Deputy Warden/Associate Deputy Warden/Administrator. In this position you will also research and respond to public inquiries, draft letters for Deputy Warden’s signature, coordinate special projects events and meetings, and employee recognition at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) - Tucson / Rincon Unit. Requirements

  • Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules, and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) policies and procedures
  • Grammatical formatting using concise, specific, and grammatically correct non-technical language

  • Three (3) years responsible administrative experience reporting to a Manager or Administrator
  • Passing a background investigation and a drug test
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter
  • Possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks
  • Maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training
  • Maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11)
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)

Responsibilities

  • Researches and compiles reports, letters, inquiries and policy updates
  • Manages unit budget including purchases and tracks expenditures
  • Tracks disciplinary actions and prepares final outcome documents
  • Completes projects as assigned
  • Coordinates special event fund raisers
  • Conducts the Capital Equipment Inventory
  • Supervises subordinate staff
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
