About The Position

The Administrative Assistant III provides administrative support for operations on a college-wide scale, division-wide scale, or unit-wide scale for units of comparable size, scope, and complexity. Performs complex and some undocumented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Drafts and sends communications on supervisor/departmental staff or college/division behalf. Reconciles P-Card/Concur for other staff/faculty against departmental budget. Performs some simple budget monitoring/entry. Receives and routes phone calls, emails, and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc. The Barefield College of Arts & Sciences Dean's Office seeks applications for an Administrative Assistant III to assist the Dean and Assistant Dean of Operations for the college. Position will manage the Dean's calendar and appointments and will support needed priorities of the Dean's Office, including events, development, finance, communications, HR, student services, and academic affairs. Position will be responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of Dean's Office support staff and student assistants. Position serves as building manager for Clark Hall.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of administrative experience; OR associate’s degree and two (2) years of administrative experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to strategically plan and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to problem solve and propose solutions consistent with established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others toward common objectives.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
