About The Position

Perform professional administrative support duties for a program, department or specific functional area of the College. These duties and responsibilities involve varying degrees of complexity and confidentiality. This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated on this description.

  • Familiarity with computer software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets
  • Associate degree and 2-4 years of experience
  • Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter.
  • May act as a “lead”, providing leadership and/or mentoring to subordinate individual(s) and/or groups.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain that authorization through employment.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing administrative support to the department/function to ensure efficient office operations i.e. correspondence, records, reports, calendars, etc.
  • Provide support for the day-to-day activities related to the financial responsibilities of the department re: budget, expense reports, purchasing, etc.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of on- and off-campus meetings, events and/or workshops.
  • Provide reception support i.e. answer and screen telephone calls, greet and interact with the public, students, faculty and staff.
  • Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities.
  • Provide back-up support services, as required.
  • Support College managers in quality and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.
