About The Position

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Florida is seeking an Administrative Assistant II. The Administrative Assistant will be expected to complete a variety of complex administrative and clinical tasks requiring skill in executive procedures including planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments. Job duties include: Receiving incoming telephone calls, emails and correspondence for the attending physician s. Receiving and processing all incoming mail. Maintaining the appointment calendars for attending physicians, scheduling meetings and conferences independently. Arranging official travel for the attending physician including making reservations for hotel accommodations and conference registration. Responsible for assisting with patients' telephone calls and emails. This includes but is not limited to scheduling new, return, and procedure appointments, directing calls to the appropriate physician. Communicating with financial representatives regarding insurance authorizations and appointment approvals prior to scheduling procedures. Coordinating with each faculty and mid-level their renewal of Florida License, DEA, professional academic societies, and credentialing in order for their appointments to remain active.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
