About The Position

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with training in office procedures and clerical skills. A minimum of two (2) years of clerical and either word processing or other computer applications experience is necessary. The role involves initiating and answering district telephone and radio calls, maintaining various records and forms, and managing the flow of incoming and outgoing paperwork. Accurate data entry into systems like Precision (sign management) and the miss dig system is crucial for tracking sign and guardrail installation. The position also requires maintaining the flow of material issue tickets and requisitions, performing duties professionally to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County, and adhering to RCOC hours of operation. Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function. The individual must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License and be legally eligible to work in the United States. This position is within a bargaining unit and subject to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training in office procedures and clerical skills.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clerical and either word processing or other computer applications experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and answer the district telephone and radio calls.
  • Maintain time sheets and overtime records, call out lists, dispatch sheets, sign and guardrail installation/maintenance forms, and district filing system.
  • Maintain flow of all incoming and outgoing paperwork/correspondence.
  • Enter information into MDOT Accident Database for signs and gather information for RCOC sign and guardrail accidents.
  • Perform timely and accurate data entry, including entering information into Precision (sign management system) and miss dig system to track sign and guardrail installation.
  • Maintain the flow of material issue tickets and requisitions.
  • Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
  • Support RCOC hours of operation with a daily schedule.
  • Attend job site regularly and predictably as an essential function of this position.
