About The Position

St. Stephen, Bradshaw is seeking candidates for an administrative position in the parish office. The Administrative Assistant is a welcoming presence for all who visit, work in, or call the office. This position works alongside the Pastoral Associate and provides support to the Office of Directors and Parish volunteers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to speak, read, and write clear English is required
  • Must be able to read cursive
  • Must have legible handwriting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent discretion and judgment to serve all who seek assistance and to maintain appropriate confidentiality
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, and volunteers as well as effectively prioritize tasks
  • Must be able to meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines while keeping up day to day office functions
  • Ability to multitask while handling interruptions
  • Detail oriented
  • Must dress in professional attire and be able to work office hours of 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
  • Computer competency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn parish-specific database systems
  • General knowledge of the Catholic Church is required
  • Must model Christian attitudes and behaviors and adhere to the Archdiocesan Code of Conduct

Responsibilities

  • Answer all incoming calls and greet parishioners who visit the office with a welcoming attitude as the first point of contact.
  • Welcome all who contact or visit the Parish Office and provide appropriate assistance, including intake process for baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
  • Maintain sacramental information in record books and electronic records.
  • Provide administrative support to the Parish Office, including assisting the Pastor and staff with correspondence, program registration, fundraising efforts, and publishing of various documents.
  • Manage parishioner database, parish website, and electronic communications.
  • Manage child & youth protection program (Virtus), making sure all active volunteers are eligible to serve.
  • Send training renewal reminders to active volunteers who have substantial contact with children.
