About The Position

The Administrative Assistant for Liturgy supports the Pastor and Director of Liturgy in the preparation and coordination of all parish liturgical celebrations. The position also includes oversight of the liturgical environment and provides general administrative support. Responsibilities vary based on parish or departmental needs. Requirements

  • Practice of the Catholic faith is required. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of Church liturgical documents, ritual books
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform clerical and administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and compose routine correspondence with a strong command of the English language.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with moderate independence.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from diocesan entities, parishioners, and members of the business community in a professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to learn and apply office systems, processes, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • knowledge and experience of liturgical music is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Liturgy in preparing ritual books for daily and weekend Masses, as well as special liturgies throughout the liturgical year
  • Ensure all liturgical materials are properly organized, updated, and ready for use
  • Coordinate and maintain the liturgical environment, including seasonal décor and sacred spaces, in accordance with the norms of the Church
  • Help schedule and communicate with liturgical ministers as needed
  • Maintain inventory of liturgical supplies and assist with ordering when necessary
  • Provide administrative support such as managing calendars, preparing documents, and responding to communications
  • Assist with planning and execution of major liturgical celebrations such as Holy Week, Christmas, and other solemnities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
