About The Position

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. Requirements

  • Four years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Medicaid Deputy Directors, Section Chiefs, and other higher-level staff with a variety of administrative matters
  • Monitors phone calls and visitors.
  • Coordinates telephone conference calls, conference meetings and/or workshops chaired by the Medicaid Deputy Directors and/or higher staff.
  • Ensures assigned primary, secondary, and unit manager time administrator duties are performed in accordance with applicable procedures and policies
  • Serves as a personnel liaison for their section(s).
  • Prepares travel documents and authorizations or travel expense accounts, makes travel arrangements with hotel, travel agency, car rental agencies and interprets travel regulations.
