Job Description The University of Nevada, Reno College of Liberal Arts is seeking an Administrative Assistant 4 with strong organizational and communications skill to join the English Department, the largest department in the College of Liberal Arts with over 100 faculty and graduate teaching assistants. This role provides front-line assistance for students, supports the Department Chair, processes HR transactions, and maintains fiscal accounts. This position requires experience in administrative support, office management, knowledge of HR and financial procedures, ability to use good judgment, sound decision making skills and professional conduct. Duties include (but are not limited to): Supervising and evaluating performance. Processing contracts for graduate teaching assistants in the Core Writing Program. Assisting with course schedule development and classroom assignments. Setting office protocol and overseeing daily operations. Organizing and coordinating special events, meetings, and logistics. Assisting with faculty travel and maintaining department inventory. Managing budgets, reconciling accounts, and preparing fiscal reports. Serving as the department's HR point of contact.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
