This position is located in the Alexandria Region Child Welfare department. The incumbent to this position serves as the sole Administrative Assistant to the Area Director of the Alexandria Region and performs a variety of functions for the entire region. Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the confidential executive secretary to the Area Director.
  • Performs duties independently and exercises a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in determining the appropriate action in matters.
  • Review, edits and prepares letters, memos, reports, contracts and emails on behalf of the Area Director.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Review, categorize, and prioritize incoming mail, calls, materials to the Area Director's office
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and conference calls.
  • Prepare and assist with the development of meeting materials
  • Responsible for all aspects of travel and expense reimbursement including hotel and flight reservations, car rentals, etc.
  • Serves as time administrator, reviewer or backup for the regional office or parish office as needed.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as requires for the smooth operation of the office.
