About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking an Administrative Assistant 3 to serve as the Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) Language Bank Coordinator. This position is responsible for meeting the growing needs in translation and interpretation, understanding language access, and utilizing current technologies in the professional field. The coordinator will manage the day-to-day operations of the language bank, support the NNIC's refugee resettlement team with expertise in language access, technology, and community outreach, and act as a leader in language access across state agencies, seeking partnerships to elevate the profession of interpreters and translators in Nevada. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities.
  • OR One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
  • OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
  • A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
