About The Position

This role provides strategic planning and executive support to the Commander's Action Group Chief, the Director of Staff, the Commander, the Deputy Director, and senior leaders across the Command Section, directorates, and detachments for the Air Force Security Forces Center (AFSFC). The specialist will manage Commander's Action Group and Task Management Tool deadlines, develop action plans, and screen products against the Commander's written standard before they reach the front office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and directly related professional experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working at Headquarters Air Force, a MAJCOM, or an equivalent staff agency.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relationships between Headquarters Air Force, MAJCOMs, AFIMSC, other DoD agencies, Government agencies, and AFSFC.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to conduct complex analysis, studies, and other staff activities and to translate that work into senior leader and executive level briefs, summaries, and briefings.
  • Demonstrated experience providing executive support to a General Officer, a Senior Executive Service leader, or an equivalent senior leader, including calendar, correspondence, and decision support.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-headquarters tasker workflow and suspense tracking in the Task Management Tool (TMT) or an equivalent DoD task management system.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and quality-control executive correspondence to Air Force writing standards, including position papers, talking points, staff summary packages, and memoranda.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing senior-leader events or protocol activities.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing policy across DoD, Air Force, MAJCOM, or AFIMSC directives.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, or the demonstrated ability to obtain and maintain one (generally, U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to cross-train on all three contract functional areas and to serve as a fully qualified backup to the other positions on the contract, with that coverage exercised on a scheduled basis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent the office at working groups and to communicate with principals at the General Officer and Senior Executive Service level.
  • Experience administering the Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT) and the Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP), including self-assessment communicators, deficiency tracking, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Experience with the Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS) or Inspector General inspection support.
  • Experience developing OPORD annexes, mission directives, or organizational realignment documentation.
  • Experience with manpower and personnel documentation, including Unit Manning Documents and Unit Personnel Management Rosters, and organizational structure development.
  • Air Force Security Forces background or familiarity with the Security Forces enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Screen HQ AFIMSC products against the AFSFC Commander's written standards baseline prior to presentation and recommend amendment or return where a product does not meet that standard.
  • Write executive correspondence and communication materials, including letters, memoranda, position papers, talking points, briefings, scripts, and staff summary packages, that are grammatically correct, clear, consistent, and reflective of leadership intent.
  • Analyze DoD, Air Force, AFMC, and AFIMSC policies and directives to identify and eliminate barriers to mission accomplishment, documenting recommendations and implementing at least two improvements annually with measurable reduction in process friction.
  • Represent AFSFC at internal and external working groups, and deliver 100% of read-ahead materials to principals no later than 48 hours prior to each senior-level meeting.
  • De-conflict and manage all event and activity schedules, and deliver instructional briefings and tool demonstrations that achieve a 90% or higher comprehension rate as measured by post-briefing feedback.
  • Control and manage the Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT) and the Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS) databases with 100% accuracy, performing all administrator duties and keeping leadership continuously informed of performance measures.
  • Develop and conduct all required inspection activities, including surveys, On-Site Inspections, and Task Evaluations, in full compliance with Commander's Inspection Program directives.
  • Contribute workstream metrics, activity narrative, and deliverable schedule to the Monthly Status Report.
  • Serve as a fully qualified backup to the Information Manager and the Enterprise Workflow Manager, sustaining full performance thresholds on all critical tasks during any absence, and cross-train on all three contract functional areas on a scheduled basis.
  • Build and maintain the continuity library for this workstream, including standard operating procedures, executive writing standards, event checklists, and critical contact lists, throughout the period of performance.
  • Review all work products for Controlled Unclassified Information prior to dissemination, and safeguard all Government-furnished property and equipment issued for performance.
  • Complete and maintain all Government-required training, including Controlled Unclassified Information, cyber awareness, operations security, insider threat, annual security refresher, timekeeping, code of ethics, constructive communications, and ethical leadership.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
