About The Position

The Administrative and Special Projects Coordinator provides advanced administrative and special project coordination support to the Executive Director of the Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine (the “Commission”). This position is responsible for office operations, industry communications and outreach efforts, supporting legislative and congressional advocacy efforts, special projects, events, and meetings. The Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine administers programs of the Wild Blueberry Association of North America (“WBANA”), and this position will provide support for both organizations. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. This position independently manages and executes administrative and operational functions while exercising discretion and independent judgment in support of organizational priorities, stakeholder engagement, and policy-related initiatives. The role is responsible for evaluating, prioritizing, and determining appropriate courses of action across a range of administrative, communications, and programmatic activities, and for providing recommendations to leadership. In a small office environment, the position performs both high-level coordination and day-to-day administrative tasks, with routine duties carried out in support of broader responsibilities requiring judgment, initiative, and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Typically has the education associated with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years of relevant or progressively responsible experience in administrative support, program coordination, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with a high level of initiative.
  • Strong interest in a career in service to agriculture.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
