About The Position

Join the City of Fullerton as an Administrative Analyst and help turn information, ideas, and insights into programs and services that support our community. Under varying levels of supervision, assists in the operation of a variety of activities within an assigned department or major program; analyzes data; prepares reports and makes recommendations; provides a wide variety of administrative assistance to management and performs related work as required. The list established for this recruitment is good for one year and will be used to fill future vacancies as needed. There are currently two vacancies: one for Administrative Analyst I in the Police Department and one for Administrative Analyst I/II in the Community and Economic Development Department. Placement at the I or II level takes into consideration an individual’s education and experience, as well as how their qualifications, knowledge, and abilities are demonstrated through the application and examination process.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of administrative analysis, research, public administration, and business practices, with the ability to analyze information and develop sound recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, make presentations, and work effectively with diverse groups.
  • The ability to organize multiple priorities, exercise independent judgment, solve problems, and build positive working relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • None (for Administrative Analyst I)
  • Two years of experience equivalent to a City of Fullerton Administrative Analyst I (for Administrative Analyst II)
  • Ability to travel within the area to attend various job-related, professional, and organizational activities.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate City needs.

  • Per California Government Code §3100 - 3109, all public employees are declared to be disaster service workers and must take and subscribe to the oath or affirmation.
  • Employees who drive for City business will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles Government Pull Notice Program.
  • The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires that you must be a U.S. citizen or an alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States to be eligible for hire.

Responsibilities
